William Fox

August 17, 1953 — February 4, 2022

William Fox, 68, of Old Fort, passed away, February 4, 2022. He was born in Bedford, Ohio, on August 17, 1953, to John and Lucy (Perchinske) Fox. William was a 1972 graduate of Maple Heights High School and earned a Bachelor's Degree from Kent State University in 1976 and a Masters degree from Toledo University in education. He was a full-time Columbian High School Industrial Arts teacher and later worked in administration and taught at Vanguard Vocational School until his retirement. After retirement, William worked part-time at Tiffin University in the dining hall. On August 16, 1975, he married Rebecca Beier at Saint John’s Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor, and she survives.

William loved being outdoors and was a natural craftsman. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, building boats, especially for sailing and iceboating, cooking, and restoring antiques. He was a member and trustee of Faith Lutheran Church where he sang in the praise choir, sat on the church council and taught Sunday School. William was also an Old Fort Trustee.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rebecca Fox of Old Fort; children, Brian Fox of Tiffin, Christine (Benjamin) Krugh of Van Wert, Andrew (Carrie) Fox of Bernville, PA, Emily Riehle of Old Fort, Steven (Bianca) Fox of Independence, OH; grandchildren, Ethan Fox, Kaleb Fox, Caitlin Fox, Allison Krugh, Madeline Krugh, Landon Riehle, Mia Riehle, Aurora Fox, Leo Fox; siblings, Robert Fox, Joan Smith, Barb Peterson, Jeff Fox, Pat Quinn, Margaret Baun, Kathleen Fox-Smith, Carolyn Walton. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, 900 North Street, Fremont, Ohio, 43420. Additional visiting will be Wednesday, February 9, 2022, from 10:00am until 11:00am at Faith Lutheran Church, 1187 CR 128, Fremont, Ohio, 43420. Funeral services will begin at 11:00am at the church. Pastor Tim Miller will officiate. Burial will follow at Faith Cemetery.
