William H. Fisher, a beloved husband, father, and skilled pipe fitter, passed away unexpectedly on January 16, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was born on March 24, 1943, in Fremont, the son of Herbert and Elizabeth (Nagy) Fisher of Helena, OH.
Bill graduated from Gibsonburg High School in 1961. He enlisted in the United States Army and served during the Vietnam Era. Upon his return he worked for the Local 50 as a plumber and pipefitter, retiring in 2005 after a 50 year career.
He was an avid sprint car fan, enjoyed fishing, blue grass music and he loved spending time with his wife and family. One of Bill's proudest achievements was building a 1965 Shelby Cobra that he worked on with his family.
He married Shirley Haubert on June 30, 1962 and she survives. They had a precious marriage for 62 years.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Shirley; children, William Jr. (Wendy) Fisher of Gibsonburg, Robin (Brian) Coffman of Findlay, and Ronald (Bernice) Fisher of Helena; 5 grandchildren;12 great-grandchildren and sister, Nancy Skidmore of Oak Harbor.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Elizabeth; as well as an infant daughter, Tracy.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 from 3-7P.M. at Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory, where a short funeral service will begin at 7:00P.M. Private graveside services will take place at West Union Cemetery. A celebration of Bill's life is planned for Monday, June 30, 2025 at his son William Jr.'s residence. Memorial contributions may be made to Fremont Speedway Hall of Fame, Gibsonburg Library or Sandusky County Parks, Green Creek Reserve. Online condolences will be expressed at www.hermanfh.com
