William H. Copley, 89, of Lindsey, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Elmwood Assisted Living. He was born June 18, 1932 in Helena, OH the son of Robert and Carrie Elizabeth (Gillespie) Copley.
Bill was a 1950 graduate of Gibsonburg High School and a United States Army Veteran serving in Korea.
On January 5, 1952 he married Patsy Bowersox at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, they recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.
Bill retired January 1, 1991 from Ford Motor Company in Sandusky. He was a woodworker who enjoyed time in his shop as well as crafting alongside his wife and daughter. Together they owned and operated PB&J Crafts. He held additional memberships with 2 camping groups and The American Legion.
Surviving is his wife Patsy, children: Dan (Beth) of Rochester, IN; Randy (Betsy) of Lindsey, OH and Dale (Sally) of Gibsonburg, OH; son-in-law Richard Willer of Lindsey; OH; grandchildren: Shane (Laura); Brandon (April); Craig (Alison), Aaron (Rickey), Daryl (Kara), Kari (Corey), Ryan (Mandi) and Alex; great-grandchildren: Paige, Connor, Arlena, Bowen, Chase, Graham, Noah, Jamison, Declan and Everlie; brother Roy Copley of Gibsonburg, OH; sister-in-law Carol Copley of Maumee, OH; brother- in- law Denny(Elaine) Bowersox Sycamore, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Janet Willer; siblings Fred Copley, Maxine & Art Shoemaker, Jim & Jean Copley, Linda Copley; sister-in-law Shirley (Paul) Baker.
Visitation will take place at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Faith Lutheran Church, 1187 CR 128, Fremont, OH. Funeral services will begin at 11:30 A.M. with Reverend Tim Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Four Mile House Cemetery with military graveside rights. Memorial contributions may be made to Lindsey Fire Department or Faith Lutheran Church.
