Tom Hinkle

April 23, 1956 — December 4, 2024

Gibsonburg

Tom Taylor Hinkle, 68, of Gibsonburg passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Windsor Lane Health Care Center. He was born on April 23, 1956 in Tulsa, OK the only son to the Omer and Gladys (Taylor) Hinkle.

Unfortunately, during his high school years, Tom's parents had passed away. After graduation in 1974, Tom worked in tech support for many years. He settled here in Northwest Ohio in 2008. Though he made several friends here in Ohio, he was sure to keep in contact with his friends and classmates from his days at Hominy high school.

During his senior year of high school Tom was an athletic manager of Hominy's 1973 state championship football team. He played trumpet in the band, wrote for the Hominy Grits (school paper), and was an editor of the school yearbook.

Tom was an accomplished pianist who began playing the piano at age 6. Tom could hear a song on the radio and then sit down and play it on the piano. He led worship in various churches and wrote many Christian songs. Some of the songs were performed by "The King's Kids", a group in which Tom played the piano and sang.

There will be a Memorial Service in celebration and honor of Tom's life on Tuesday, December 10th at the Windsor Lane dining hall beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will be held privately at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg.
