Thomas (Tom) J. Longanbach, 83, of Fremont, passed away on September 3, 2021.
Tom was born on May 14, 1938 in Fremont to the late Carl K. and Amilda E. (Nahm) Longanbach.
He graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1956 and went on to attend Ohio University.
Tom proudly served his country in the Army and was honorably discharged in 1967. Tom later retired from the Heinz Corporation after being employed there for over 35 years.
On October 12, 1968, he married Charmaine Wunder at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sandusky, OH, spending 53 wonderful years together.
Throughout school, Tom played football and other sports, and was inducted into the Fremont Ross Athletic Hall of Fame in 2018.
A faithful member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Tom served on the Church Council and many other committees throughout the years. The caring of his yard with flowers, trees and his garden were his pride and joy along with the love of his family.
Tom is survived by his wife, Charmaine; children, Judy (Kevin) Dimbath of Springboro, OH, John (Juanita) Longanbach of San Antonio, TX, and Carol (Jason) Lamb of Loveland, OH; as well as 8 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Amilda; sister, Faye (William) Mayer; and brother, Richard (Pat) Longanbach.
A time of visiting will be held on Friday, September 10 from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory 900 North St., Fremont.
Services for Tom will be held on Saturday, September 11, at 11:00 AM at St. Mark Lutheran Church with an hour of visitation prior to services. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Memorial donations can be made in Tom's name to St. Mark Lutheran Church.
