Stanley E. King Sr., 72, of Gibsonburg passed away at his home with family by his side on Monday, March 15, 2021. Born on November 27, 1948 in Temple, Texas, Stanley was the only child of Delbert and Mayme (Wood) King. On December 28, 1986 he married the love of his life, Patricia Herman.
Stanley was a trucker, a cook and a master of the perfect barbeque. He volunteered at many community fundraisers including the pouring of the foundation for the Chaplin statue. He was known to be the man behind the BBQ, and will be remembered for the smile he couldn’t hide as he was complimented on his food.
Surviving is his wife, Pat of Gibsonburg; son, Stanley King Jr. of Michigan; 3 grandchildren; father & mother-in-law, Ed & Dee Herman; brothers-in-law, Jeff (Theresa) Herman and Dan (Sonya) Herman all of Gibsonburg; beloved dog, Rolo; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A Barbeque in Honor and Celebration of Stanley’s Life will take place at his home later this summer and all will be invited!!
