Sr. Jane Fox, RSM, entered into eternal life the evening of February 20, 2024, at St. Bernardine Home in Fremont, Ohio. Jane was born in Chicago on July 2, 1938, and raised in Oak Park, Illinois, with her parents and two brothers, Ted and Bill, both deceased, and her sister Judy. Summers were delightfully spent at her grandparents’ cottage in South Haven, Michigan.

Jane graduated from Marquette University and the University of Michigan’s School of Public Health in Health Care Administration.

Her ministry began as a high school teacher of history and religious studies in schools in San Fransisco, Stockton, Monterey, and Vallejo, California. Later, she ministered in health care administration and hospice in Farmington Hills, Ann Arbor, Detroit, and Pontiac, Michigan. Jane enjoyed her volunteer ministry as a teacher and tutor of young women at the Mercy Education Project in Detroit.

Sister Jane lived as a Dominican Sister of San Rafael for 24 years and a Sister of Mercy for 38 years. Private commital services will take place at Our Lady of the Pines Cemetery, Fremont, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of Mercy. Arrangements have been entrusted to Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, Fremont, OH.
