Shirley J. (Bodemann) Munson, 88 of Fremont passed away in the early morning of March 23, 2023 at Bethesda Care Center. She was born on November 4, 1934 to the late Henry and Carrie (Ickes) Walters. 

Shirley worked as a waitress in her younger years and later as an executive housekeeper for Sandusky County. Throughout her life she had been the pianist and organist for Fremont Alliance Church since she was 14. 

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Judy Winchester of Strongsville, Margie (Dave Mierke) Kuyken of Fremont, and Vicki (Monte) Collins also of Fremont; grandchildren, Laura Kaschube, Jennifer Winchester, Michael Kuyken Jr., Nathan Collins, and Nicholas Collins; 10 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; father of her children, Herbert Bodemann; siblings, Rhea Myers, Roma Springer, Katheryn Weiker, Morris Walters, and Richard "Dick" Walters; son-in-law, Kenneth Winchester; and granddaughter, Danielle Marie Kuyken.

Memorials in honor of Shirley may be made to Fremont Alliance Church or to ProMedica Heartland Hospice.

Visitation for Shirley will be held at Fremont Alliance Church on Tuesday, March 28 2023 from 10:00 A.M.- 12:00 P.M. with Funeral Services beginning at Noon. Pastor Glenn Merrill will officiate, and burial will follow at Washington Chapel Cemetery.
