Sheila Rose Damschroder, a beloved mother, caregiver, and warm-hearted friend, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on June 18, 1932, in Wayne, OH, to the late Neil and Ethel (McCoy) Tefft.
Sheila was a 1950 Portage Township High School graduate.
On April 11, 1953, she married Louis Damschroder. Together they shared 62 years of marriage until his passing on May 6, 2015.
Sheila was known for her nurturing spirit and dedication to the well-being of others. She spent a fulfilling career in child care, where she touched the lives of countless children and their families, providing love, support, and guidance from her home.
Sheila is survived by her children, Louis Jr. (Valerie) of Oak Harbor, Dwight (Patricia) of Gibsonburg, Timothy (Susan) of Gibsonburg, Rebecca (John) Rofkar of Port Clinton, Marcia (David) Garrett of Mt. Sterling, OH, and Debra (Johnny) Stacy of Fremont; 15 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and sister Shelva Dielman of Bradenton, FL.
She was a shining light in the community of Gibsonburg, OH where she made her home and built lasting connections with friends and neighbors. She was a member of the Gibsonburg American Legion Auxiliary and Shiloh Choir. Sheila's kindness and generosity knew no bounds, and her legacy of compassion will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Family and friends are invited to the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory, Gibsonburg on Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 4-8 PM. Funeral services will be held at Gibsonburg Community Church, Trinity Campus on Friday, May 2, 2025 at 11:00 AM with and hour of Visitation at the church prior to the start of the service. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a Shiloh Church, Wood County Senior Center, or donor's choicein Sheila's name.
Sheila was preceded in death by her husband Louis Damschroder; parents; and grandson Ryan Rofkar.
