Ruth Gerwin

Gibsonburg- Ruth A. Gerwin, 72, passed away at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg on Tues., April 2, 2019. She was born on January 30, 1947 in Toledo to the late Walter “Charles” and Leona (Weis) Savage.

Ruth was a 1965 Harris-Elmore High School graduate and continued her education receiving her Associates Degree in Business from Davis Business College.

On July 19, 1968, she married Greg Gerwin at Zion Lutheran Church, Gibsonburg. Together they raised their two children, Jennifer and Weston. In addition to working as a Secretary for the Credit Department/Loan Office at Toledo Trust, Zion Lutheran Church for 10 years, Dr. Sauber’s office, and WSOS for four years, Ruth was a great homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, sewing, sand art, leaded glass, boating and attending Bible studies. She was a member of the Jr. Federation and attended Church until her health prevented her full participation. Ruth also enjoyed spending Winters in South Texas.

Surviving is her husband of 50 years, Greg; children, Jennifer (Guy) Proctor and Weston (Anne) Gerwin all of Perrysburg; five grandchildren; and brother, Robert (Linda) Savage of Elmore and Mercedes, TX.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Savage.

Friends and family will be welcomed to the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg on Friday, April 12, 2019 from 6-9 p.m. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, April 13, 2019, 11:00 a.m. at Elmore Church of God, 310 Congress St., Elmore, OH 43416. Rev. Tom Wilhardt will officiate.
