Ronald F. Nissen, 79 of Green Springs passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Firelands Regional Medical Center. He was born on July 18, 1943 to the late Frederick and Leona (Caris) Nissen.

A 1961 graduate of Harris Elmore High School, Ronald went on to serve his country in the United States Army from 1964-1967, stationed in Italy. He continued his service in the Army National Guard from 1978-1988, where he served as a combat engineer. From 1988-1990, Ronald was an instructor for the US Army Reserve School, and re-signed to the National Guard from 1990-1995, where he earned the rank of 1st Sergeant of the 145th MASH Hospital.
