Robert (Bob, Louie) Louis Hammer passed on Feb. 20, 2024. Bob was 87. Bob was born to Louis & Marcella Hammer (both deceased) on June 12, 1936 in Fremont, Ohio. Bob had three sisters, Marilyn Hamilton (deceased) Fremont, Rosalie Strable (deceased) Defiance, and Cheryl Nye, Kansas, OH. After graduating from Gibsonburg High School, Bob attended Toledo Barber School in Toledo, OH. He barbered from 1957 to 1975 with Pete Zimmerman at Pete's Barber Shop on Croghan Street in Fremont, later Louie's Barber Shop.
Bob enlisted in the National Guard in 1958. He married Gethlean (Peggy) Faulkner, who spent 63 happy years with Bob and survives him, on Nov. 26, 1960. They have two daughters, Kelly Ann (James Clement) of Cape Coral, FL and Robin Ann (Leo VanderHoff) of Van Buren, OH. Bob, Peggy and kids moved to Cape Coral in 1975. Soon after Bob obtained his General Contractors License for the State of Florida and owned and operated Hammer Construction. Hammer Construction was a well respected custom home builder. Bob retired from Construction in 1995 and spent his retirement years enjoying golf, traveling, watching sporting events and most of all spending time with his family.
Bob also has four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Paul Denmark (deceased), Anya Denmark (Chris Duffy) of Cape Coral. Charelle Eaton (Paul Ralston) and their children Michael and Tyne of Alger, OH and Sara Rosenberger of Findlay OH. Bob's Family invites you to Celebrate Bob's outstanding life, on Saturday June 22, 2024 at 11:00 am at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Gibsonburg, OH at 317 E. Madison St. with a catered lunch following.
