Robert Allen Aldrich

Robert Allen Aldrich, 84, of Helena passed away at Toledo Hospital Coronary ICU, Saturday, October 8, 2022 with his family by his side. He was born May 6, 1938 in Gibsonburg the son of Ray W. and Louise (Laney) Aldrich.

Robert married Jane Nieset on August 16, 1958 at St. Michael Church in Gibsonburg. Bob first worked at Tony's Bakery in Fremont, making all the good breads and rolls. His last job was with Ford Motor Autolite in Fostoria. He started there in 1968 and ultimately retiring in 1998 from Allied Signal Automotive Parts as a Millwright in skilled trades.
With help from family and friends Bob and Jane built their own home in 1964. He also built a cabin alongside his son in Chautauqua County, N.Y. which his family enjoyed for 30 years. Bob loved being outdoors, coon hunting with his dogs, numerous other sports and garden and yard work.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Jane; son Allen (Tami) Aldrich of Fremont; daughters Sheril (John) Shafer of Helena and Jodi (Ron) Wolf of Fremont; sister Barbara Conway; grandchildren: Jacob, Jared, Austin, Tyler, Joshua, Hailey, Garrett; 2 great-grandchildren Rip & Raelynn. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ray and sister Joan Goodman.

Visitation will take place at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, October 14, 2022 at Saint Mary Catholic Church, 865 SR 635, Helena, OH. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 A.M.; Fr. Thomas Varghese presiding, Fr. Ted Miller, Homilist.
