Richard H. Lantz, 75, of Fremont passed away, Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Spring Creek in Green Springs, OH. He was born May 22, 1948 in New York, NY the son of LaMar and Bertha (Rodriguez) Lantz.
Richard was a 1966 graduate of Fremont Ross High and went on to serve in the United States Army as a Radio Operator during Vietnam. Upon his return, he worked for Whirlpool Corp. As a happily confirmed bachelor, he was an active member and Elder of First United Church of Christ, an avid walker, enjoyed all things trains, dart ball, softball, gardening and building models.
Surviving are his sisters Mara Thompson of Fremont, OH; Marie (Kevin) McCourt of Vickery, OH, Chris (Fred) Craig of Port Clinton, OH; extended family whom he treated as his children and grandchildren; Rachael (Bobby) Russell, Noah Smith, Maleah Crow and close friend Nick Smith, all of Fremont;numerous nieces and nephews and beloved cat "Buckeye". He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Carol Lantz and brother-in-law Richard Thompson.
The family would like to extend like to extend their thanks to his church family, Spring Creek and Southern Care Hospice for their support and care.
Visitation will take place on Friday, May 10, from 10-11 A.M. at First United Church of Christ, where funeral services will begin at 11:00 A.M. officiated by Pastor Kay Mooney Cox. Burial will follow with military graveside rights performed by the V.F.W and American Legion at Washington Chapel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to : First United Church of Christ or Southern Care Hospice.
