Richard "Dick" Charles Blosser

Richard “Dick” Charles Blosser, 92, of Fremont, passed away March 22, 2023. He was born in Fostoria, Ohio, on September 24, 1930, to Verlin and Helen (Schindoff) Blosser. Richard proudly served in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Howard W. Gilmore, enlisting on January 2, 1951 and receiving an honorable discharge on November 1, 1954. Following his service from the Navy, Richard worked for Whirlpool until his retirement. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and a member of the American Legion and VFW in Fostoria. Richard is best remembered for the support and devotion he showed towards the his fellow veterans, his love for his beagles, reading the bible, and spending time outdoors fishing and hunting. He married Dorothy Hailey and she preceded him in death on December 18, 1992.

Left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren, Jason (Renee) Witt, Stacey Blosser, Shawn Blosser; great-grandchild, Kaylee Witt; son-in-law, Daniel Schade Jr., and daughter-in-law, Deb Blosser.

In addition to his parents and wife, Dorothy Blosser, he was preceded in death by his children, Joe Blosser, Cheryl Schade, and Ray Blosser.

There will be a time of visiting for both Richard and his daughter, Cheryl Schade, on Saturday, March 25, 2023, from 12:00 PM until to start of their memorial service at 2:00 PM at Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory, 319 W. Madison Street, Gibsonburg, OH, 43431. Deacon James Heyman will officiate. Burial for Richard will be held privately at Greenlawn Memory Gardens in Clyde.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Fostoria American Legion Post 73, 300 N Main St, Fostoria, OH, United States, Ohio.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and nurses with Parkview Care Center and ProMedica Hospice for their exceptional care for Richard over the years.
