Phyllis R. Ramey

Phyllis Rose Ramey, 75, of Fremont, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2019 at Mercy Health- St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo. She was born on August 30, 1944 in Ironton to George & Fannie (Spillman) Adkins.

Phyllis successfully ran Phyl’s Grill diner for 10 years and Phyl & Ray’s restaurant during the 70’s through the mid 80’s. She will be remembered for her care of her poodles and the deep love she shared with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

On January 24, 1976, Phyllis married Raymond B. Ramey in Fremont. Together they celebrated 37 wedding anniversaries until his passing on January 5, 2014.

Phyllis is survived by her children, James (Byung Sook) Hay of Woodbridge, VA, Tena Good of Fostoria and Fanny Clymer-Wait of Fremont; step-children, Ray Allen (Beth) Ramey and Paul Gary (Pamela) Ramey, all of Fremont; grandchildren, Tinisha (Andrew) Ollom, William Jr. (Amanda) Clymer, Jeffrey Good, Zachary Ramey, Audriona Ramey, Krista (Bernard) Poole, Blake Armstrong, James (Gwen) Hay, Raena & Brandon Hay, Sundai Anderson, Do Young Park, Tracy, Crystal & Sunshine; great-granchildren, Lincoln, Collinn & Juliette Ollom, Hannah Clymer, Mason, Jada, Ariyanna & Jayveon Good, Dazavier, Jazzlynn, Razyia & Lanyia Poole, Addison, Makayla, Abigail & Nathan Hay; and siblings, Georgia Case, Karen Shaffer, Mark Adkins, & Gary Paul Adkins.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; step-son, Timothy Ramey; grandson, J.R. Jackson; and siblings, Larry Adkins, Geraldine Thacker, Jackie Campbell, Rona Davis, Genny Sherman, Mary Jane McGuire & Joann Haynes.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 10:00-12:00 p.m. at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 p.m. Rev. Dan Vickey will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
