Phillip Hart

Phillip Scott “Cook” ‘Dr. Phil” Hart, 82, of Port Clinton, passed away August 18, 2024, surrounded by his family at home. He was born September 22, 1941 in Fremont, Ohio, the son of John and Mildred (Ickes) Hart. Phillip was a 1959 graduate of Gibsonburg High School. For many years he worked for Eaton Corporation in quality control and retired in 2002. 

In his free time, Phillip enjoyed playing softball, golf, basketball, admiring classic cars, and ice fishing. He was also an avid Ohio State, Cleveland Guardians and Cleveland Browns fan.

Left to cherish his memory are his life companion, Elizabeth Pagniano; children, Scott (Kristi) Hart of Fostoria, Shelly Hart-Payne of Gibsonburg, Stacy (Dirk) Lincicome of Blue Rock, Joshua (Megan) Clark and Megan Andrews, both of Norwalk; grandchildren, Kenzie (Sean), Melanie, Drew & Jack, Devin, Alexis, Kimberly, Joshua, Hayden; great-grandchildren, Levi, Avery, Hudson, Willow, Miloa, Harlo, Winslow; and best buddy, Max. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Mary Kay (Balsizer) Hart.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 28, 2024, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory, 319 W. Madison Street, Gibsonburg, OH, 43431. Burial will take place privately at West Union Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
