Philip F. Klausz Jr.

Philip F. Klausz Jr., 77, of Fremont, passed away Friday, October 7, 2022 at his residence. He is now at peace with the love of his life, Constance Joy Shoup, whom he married May 24, 1986. Connie preceded him in death on June 21, 2018. Phil was born September 14, 1945 in Fremont, the son of Philip and Elizabeth (Strung) Klausz.
Phil was a 1964 graduate of Ross High and went on to attend Whirlpool Trade School. He was a Plastics Setup Tech for Whirlpool Corp., retiring in 2001. 
 Phil was a former Ballville Township Trustee,  Former Ballville township zoning board officer and member,  a member of Trinity United Methodist of Fremont.  He was also active with the Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts of America and a life time member of Tri State Gas Engine Association. He was a charter member of Sandusky County Restorers of Antique Power(SCRAP),  member of the Cool Springs Power Museum, charter member of Firelands Pioneer Power Association.
 
Phil enjoyed collecting and restoring antique engines. He had an appreciation of antique cars. Most of all he loved spending time with his daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Time with family, friends, neighbors and people of the community made him happy. Often times he was found in his yard taking care of "God's Picture" as he would call it and just enjoying life.  
 
 
Surviving are daughters, Kellie Poole of Fremont, Lori (John) Halsey of Bellevue; grandchildren, Cyle, Amber, & Dustin Poole, Jordan & Hannah Halsey; great-grandchildren, Cayden, Chase and Coleson Poole, and Abel Andrew; sister Theresa Jakober and father-in-law, Conrad Shoup of Fremont.
 
He is preceded in death by his best friend and loving wife, Connie and sisters Elizabeth Mehling and Katie Briggs.
 
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 from 2-4 and 5-7P.M. at Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, 900 North Street, Fremont, OH. Live Streamed Funeral services will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday at the funeral home, additional visitation will take place one hour prior to services beginning at 10:00A.M. The service may be viewed on his obituary page at www.hermanfh.com Pastor Andrea Thurston will officiate. Burial will follow at McGormley Cemetery, Fremont.
Memorial contributions may be made to Fremont City Schools Food Service for their Lunch Fund Donation or Ballville Township Parks.
