Patricia (Pat) A. Frederick, 91 of Gibsonburg left this world for her heavenly home on February 7, 2025, surrounded by family and friends at the Otterbein Pemberville Senior Community .

On August 16, 1933 she was the first born of Harold and Creta (Heffner) Goetz of Helena, Ohio. She grew up in a farming community, active in 4-H. She earned a certification - Degree of Flora (Master Gardener) with the National Grange, April 20, 1950. A 1951 Gibsonburg High School graduate, she went on to work at Eaton Controls for 34 years and 2 years with Sandusky Plastics before retiring in 1995.

Pat had many hobbies which she mastered: ceramics, painting, sewing, crocheting, quilting, and family historian. Family and friends were gifted with her beautiful creations over the years. She had the opportunity to travel extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe and even obtained her International Driving Permit. She spent enjoyable winters in Florida with family.

She loved to volunteer to helping at the food pantry, and the VFW. She also helped making apple dumplings and assisting at the Pumpkin Patch with family. She loved to cook and feed family and neighbors with delicious delights!

On August 15, 1964, Pat married James A. Frederick at the Clyde Methodist Church & together they shared 38 years together until his passing in 2002.

Left to cherish her memory are daughter, Deborah (Greg) Coleman; grandchildren, Veronica Coleman, Marisa Hughes, and Aaron (Angela) Coleman; great granddaughter Inara Hughes; brother, Donald (June) Goetz; sister-in-law, Jeanette Goetz; and treasured nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

She leaves behind a legacy of giving, helping others, and strong love of family!! Pat could be a jokester too when we least expected it.

She was preceded in death by her son Daniel Frederick; her parents, Harold & Creta; brothers, Robert and Richard Goetz & sister, Barbara Sams.

The family extends our heartfelt thank you to Ashanti Hospice and Oakwood staff for the wonderful care and compassion provided to her. A special thanks to her “table friends” for always being there with a smile, kind words, and holding her hands when she needed it.

A graveside ceremony will be held at Chestnut Grove Cemetery & followed by A Celebration of Life. A date for services will be determined and posted on the funeral home website.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Ashanti Hospice, the VA, St. Jude’s; or plant a tree for the “Master Gardener”.

Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory, Gibsonburg is honored to be assisting the Frederick family during this difficult time.
