Nancy L. Wright, 87, of Vickery passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025. She was born on March 8, 1938 in Fostoria to the late Darald and Vauda (Clary) Hunker.
After her graduation from Fostoria High School in 1956, she attended Bliss Business College. Nancy worked for Marathon Oil, AP Ketchup in Bloomdale and for the Sandusky County Unemployment Office as a Supervisor.
On Feb. 6, 1960 she married Dean A. Rhoades (deceased) he passed on May 18, 1997. On Oct. 16, 1999 she married Herbert Wright.
Nancy was a strong woman of strong faith. She was very active in the Hayes United Methodist Church, serving the Church in many roles and on many committees. She enjoyed butterflies, baking pies, camping, traveling, gathering nuts from woods in the fall, driving thru the wildlife areas in the spring and fall to see all the ducks, geese, and other wildlife. She especially enjoyed family time. She hosted February family runaways for many years. She loved band concerts and always claimed that the only reason for a football game was so the band could perform at halftime. She was a farm girl at heart and enjoyed telling stories about growing up outside of Fostoria on the family farm.
In addition to her husband Herb, left to cherish her memory are her children, Galen (Carol) Rhoades, Aaron Rhoades and Diane (Ken) Ulrich; step children, Dennis (Linda) Wright and Nathan (Julie) Wright; grand kids, Sarah (William) Nickle, Amber (Daniel Haynes) Jack, Stephanie (Haron) Getui, Krista (Craig Thomas) Rhoades, Ian Rhoades, Heather (Joshua) Zimmerman, Amanda (Kyle) DeHaven, and Kaitlyn (Jon) Pattee; step-grand kids, Michael (Jennifer) Cordray, Staci (Sean) Zolkoski; great-grand kids, Kaydn Nickle, Conor Nickle, Olivia Getui, Julius Getui, Josiah Zimmerman, Elijah Zimmerman, and Lydia Zimmerman; step great-grandkids, Addison Cordray, Elijah Cordray, Colton Zolkoski, and Zoe Zolkoski; and siblings, Ila Dick (Dale, deceased), Rose Weiker (Scott deceased), Robert (Rebecca) Hunker, Karen Keckler (Kenneth deceased), Ruth Hladky deceased (Donald), June Anderson deceased (Robert deceased), and Jane (Kevin) Kleba.
Visitation for Nancy will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025 at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, Fremont from 2-8 PM with the family being present from 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM. Funeral Services will be held at Hayes Memorial United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 11 AM. Pastor Andrea Thurston will officiate and burial will be held privately at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Arcadia.
Memorials in honor of Nancy may be made to Hayes Memorial United Methodist Church.
