Nancy L. Gruver, 81, of Huron, passed away February 4, 2023. She was born in Fremont to Howard and Christine (Miller) Hasselbach on September, 6, 1941. Nancy was a graduate of Fremont Ross High School. On April 30, 1965, she married James Gruver at Grace Lutheran Church in Fremont, and he preceded her in death on August 20, 2022. Nancy was a bookkeeper for many years, first at Infant Items in Fremont, then Brush Wellman in Elmore, and retired as a secretary from Don Paul Ford in Fremont. She was a member of the Christian Women's Club, Grace Lutheran Church and volunteered at Fremont Memorial Hospital and Firelands Regional Medical Center. In her free time, Nancy enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, traveling across the nation to attend kite festivals with James as well as visit her family, watching the sunset over Lake Erie from her condo and going out for dinner with her group of friends from Beachwood Villas.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Deena Gruver of CA, David (Kelly) Gruver of TN, Douglas (Kathryn) Gruver of OH; grandchildren, Devin, Isaac (Rebecca), Jacob and Gabrielle Gruver; siblings, Janet (Jim) Morley of Fremont, and Jim (Shirley) Hasselbach of Oak Harbor.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 10, 2023, from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, 900 North Street, Fremont, OH, 43420. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home at 12:00pm. Lay Associate Minister Maureen Pump will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenwood (Kingsway) Cemetery in Fremont.
