Mildred “Georgia” Case, 77, of Fremont, passed away on July 11, 2023 at Bellevue Hospital. She was born on March 1, 1946, to George and Fanny (Spillman) Adkins in Ironton, Ohio. She graduated from Ironton High School and later from Owens Community College in 1989 as an RN. Georgia worked for several hospitals over the span of her career, including Magruder Hospital and Fremont Memorial, but was with Bellevue Hospital the longest on the medical-surgical floor. On February 29, 1976, she married Jesse Case at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Fremont, and he survives.
Georgia was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Fremont. In her free time, she loved watching westerns and going out to eat with her children and her grandchildren or having family cookouts.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jesse Case; children, Angela (Dennis) Butscher, Michael (Barbara) Hay, Laura (Michael) Taylor, all of Fremont, Jason (Kelly) Case of Clyde, Dennis Case of Fremont; step-daughters, Erin (Joe) Case of Fostoria, Jennifer Case of Fremont; 16 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 3 siblings. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Melanie Dawn Hay; grand-daughter, Cassandra Butscher; great-grandsons, Austin and Alex Butscher, and 7 siblings.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 17, 2023, from 10:00 AM until the start of her funeral services at 12:00 PM at Herman-Karlovtez Funeral Home & Crematory, 900 North Street, Fremont, OH, 43420. Reverend Mike Legg will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. For those unable to attend, live-streaming of services will be available by following the link provided on her obituary page.
