Michael J. Reineck, 80, of Gibsonburg passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024. He was born on December 24, 1943 a son to the late Rudolph E. and Helen R. (Borck) Reineck.
Michael was a 1962 Gibsonburg High School graduate. Later that year, he joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany during Vietnam.
For many years Michael worked for Honeywell, retiring in 2004. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Sandusky County Sportsmen's Club, the National Rifle Association and the Gibsonburg American Legion.
He married the love of his life, Alice Wasserman, on June 17, 1967 at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Alice; daughters, Sheryl (Andrew) Mickens of Perrysburg, OH, Sandra (Travis) Fox of Frisco, TX, Susan (Kevin) Casselman of Findlay, OH, Cynthia (George) Flores of Gibsonburg, OH, Debra (Kris) Meeks of Brownstown, MI and Jennifer (Ernest) Sharkey of Vickery, OH; grandchildren, Grant & Sarah Mickens, Roman & Alex Fox, Wesley, Alicia, Luke & Peter Joseph Casselman, Aleyna & Jorja Michelle Flores, and Kristina & Landon John Meeks; and siblings, Franklin (Mary) Reineck of Fremont, OH, Henry Reineck of Gibsonburg, OH, Catherine Mosser of Fremont, OH, Barbara (Paul) Lammers of Port Isabel, TX, and Joseph (Sue) Reineck of Broadview Heights, OH. He is preceded in death by his brother, James Reineck.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 30th from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory, Gibsonburg with the Rosary to begin at 7:30 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Thursday, October 31st at 10:30 AM. Monsignor Tad Oxley will officiate and burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery with Military Honors.
Memorials in honor of Michael may be made to Annunciation Radio, Heartbeat Hope Medical Pregnancy Center or St. Mary's Catholic Church.
