Mary Jane Rupke, 71, of Woodville, passed away Monday, April 24, 2023 at her residence. She was born December 2, 1951 in Fremont the daughter of William and Jane (Kohler) Shull. Mary was a 1970 graduate of Gibsonburg High. As an avid crafter, Mary owned and operated the Craft Mall in Perrysburg. She later found a passion for the developmentally disabled community. She was a pioneer in believing that all individuals should be treated as respected members of the community. In her long career, Mary worked with several agencies in direct care and adminstrative roles. She considered her clients to be family and improved their lives with understanding, kindness and most of all LOVE. Everyone knew and loved Mary. On August 30, 1985 she married Stephen Rupke, he preceded her in death on December 30, 2012
Surviving are her children Tracy Rupke of Gibsonburg, Mike (RoAnna) Rupke of Helena, Niki Jones of Hessville, Heather Jones of Wyandotte, MI and Jacqueline (Tony) Beaber of Gibsonburg; grandchildren: Mike, Bailey, Macy, Shane, Shannon, Jeffrey, Stephen, Savannah, Bobby, Jessica, Reyna and Dillon; 15 great-grandchildren; brother John Shull of Gibsonburg.
Visitation will take place on Friday, April 28, 2023 from 3-6 P.M. at Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory, 319 W. Madison St., Gibsonburg, OH. Funeral services will begin at 6:00 P.M. Private Burial will take place at West Union Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Sandusky County Board of Developmental Disabilities or Promedica Memorial Hospice.
