Mary Moyer

Mary Ellen Moyer, 85, of Fremont, OH, passed away on September 23, 2024, at her residence. She was born on June 21, 1939, in Fremont, OH the daughter of Sylvester and Eva (Wilhelm) Sloma. Mary graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1957, and she married Melvin E. Moyer on January 10, 1959 at Fremont St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Mary was a beloved homemaker who dedicated her life to caring for her family. Part of that was helping to run her husband's business, Mel Moyer Construction as a book keeper.

Her generous spirit was evident through her cooking and baking. Along with everyone being invited to her table, Mary was known to provide excessive amounts of food to make sure no one left hungry. Due to her continual practice, she was known to win ribbons for her cookies, pies and canning over many years during the Sandusky County Fair.

She was a member of the Women of the Moose and the Fremont Eagles Auxiliary, and in her spare time she loved to go camping.

She is survived by her loving spouse, Melvin Moyer; children, Lisa (Tom) Morrison of Fremont , Jacqueline (Ricky) Corron of Findlay and Michael Moyer of Fremont; grandchildren, Andrew (Melissa) Morrison and their children, Lincoln & Luke, Kristin (Brandon) Caylor, and Jenna (Jacob) Smith and their children Savannah and Theodore; and sister, Rozella (Herman) Foos of Fremont.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Vincent Sloma; and sister, Anna Hoffman.

A Funeral Mass for Mary will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church beginning at 1:00 PM. All are welcomed and encouraged to attend visitation at the church at 12:30 PM. Burial will be held privately at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Fremont.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of Mary may be made to Sacred Heart for Masses and Candles or to Heartland Hospice.
