Mary Ann Brown

January 13, 1930 — July 12, 2022

Mary Ann Brown, 92 of Gibsonburg died on July 12, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on January 13, 1930 to the late James and Doris J. (Jones) Rusher in Toledo.

A 1948 graduate of Gibsonburg High School, Mary Ann first worked for Ideal Bakery. She then became a bookkeeper and later served as an Assistant Vice President of the Home Banking Company for 35 years. She retired in 1990 from 5/3 Bank.

On October 16, 1949, Mary Ann married Howard Brown at Trinity EUB Church in Gibsonburg and have spent 72 loving years together.

Mary Ann was the oldest member of Gibsonburg United Methodist Church - Trinity Campus, attending since she was two years old. She spent many years teaching Sunday School and serving as the secretary/treasurer of the Memorial Fund. She was also active in the women's group and assisted with serving communion. Her family will remember her love of reading and her delicious cookies.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Howard; children, Patricia (Tom) Parlette of Gibsonburg, Robert Brown of Gibsonburg, Richard (Noreen) Brown of Gibsonburg, and Susan Loader of Zanesville; sisters-in-law, Rita Brown and Susie Rusher; 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

Mary Ann is preceded in death by her parents, James and Doris; siblings, Norma Jean Ferrenberg and James Rusher Jr.; brothers-in-law, Bill Brown and Don Brown; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Ottney.

A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory, Gibsonburg (319 W. Madison St. Gibsonburg, OH 43431) from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 18, 2022 at Gibsonburg United Methodist Church, Trinity Campus (200 E. Madison St. Gibsonburg, OH 43431) at 11:00 AM with an hour of visitation prior to services. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Gibsonburg United Methodist Church Outreach Center (200 E. Madison St. Gibsonburg, OH 43431) or to ProMedica Heartland Hospice (907 W. State St. Fremont, OH 43420).
