Mary Ann Blechinger, 93, of Fremont, passed Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Promedica Memorial Hospital. She was born on December 16, 1928, in Fremont the daughter of DeFoe I. and Mildred I. (Wagner) Grob. She attended St. Ann Elementary School and graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1947. She married Loren D. (Larry) Blechinger on May 21, 1949, at St. Ann Catholic Church by Father John McCullen. Larry preceded her in death on March 11, 2014.
Upon graduation she worked at Joseph's Department Store, at Fremont Memorial Hospital, Community Hospital and St. Bernadine's Home. She enjoyed raising and breeding her dogs and had a dog trimming service. She had a day care center in her home and many of her children called her "Mom". Mary Ann was a talented seamstress designing and making many wedding and bridesmaid dresses. Together with her husband they made crafts and their own unique creations and traveled to attend many shows selling their handiwork. Mary Ann was also a Boy Scout Den Mother and Camp Fire Girl leader when her children were young.
She is survived by her four children; Lawrence (Randi) Blechinger of Birmingham, Alabama; Michael (Jean) Blechinger of Kenton, Ohio; Marsha (Scott) Forgatsch and Lisa (Michael) Celek of Fremont, Ohio. She will be sadly missed by her 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving is her brother, Dennis (Judith) Grob of Michigan; close friends: Reenie Parman, Margie Jiblian and Colleen Miller; b her dog, Nikki. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Colleen Tuck and Connie Rigler, and son-in-law, Dale Fulwider.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, January 15, 2022, from 8:00A.M. to 9:30 A.M. at Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, 900 North Street, Fremont, OH. A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00A.M. on Saturday, at St. Ann Catholic Church with Fr. Chris Kardzis officiating. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery.
