Mark Edward Frey

Mark Edward Frey, 67, of Gibsonburg passed away on February 6, 2023, at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born on March 1, 1955.

Mark was a 1973 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School, where he went on to work for multiple printers in the area, including Haefilng, Quick Tab, and retired from Image Systems LLC in 2008. He also spent much of his time as a sprint car mechanic and was a lifelong race fan.

On October 24, 1992, Mark married Connie O'Connell, whom he adoringly called "Love", at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Ottawa, OH. They most recently shared their 30th anniversary together. 

Mark's family will remember him for his wealth of knowledge and life advice that he enjoyed sharing with them. He had a deep love for his family and took any opportunity he could to boast about his children. Mark could also never turn down a baked good and made memories of trying new and spicier kinds of hot sauce with his kids. He loved to host gatherings with lots of food, claiming “if you ever left hungry, that was your own damn fault.” Connie will fondly remember all their years camping and chasing the races all over Ohio, his dry sense of humor, and loving his role as Dad.

Mark is survived by his wife, Connie; children, Nathan (Callie) Frey, Kaylar Frey, and Brendan Frey; grandchildren, Emerson, Gibson, Hudson, and Grayson; and brothers-in-law, Bill, Kevin, and his favorite, John.

Mark is preceded in death by his parents, John and Vivian (West) Frey; and sister, Mary Lou (Tim) Hayes.

A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, February 12 from 10:00AM-1:00PM at the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory, Gibsonburg, with a memorial service to follow visitation.
