Marjorie Tanvas, 103, of Fremont passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Elmwood Assisted Living. She was born on June 23, 1921, to the late Dorphus and Clara (Kober) Drum in Decatur, IN.
Marjorie graduated from Decatur High School in 1939 and went on to attend International Business School. She retired from the Sandusky County Recorders Office as Deputy Recorder in 1991 after a 19 year career.
In 1945, Marjorie married Vincent W. Tanvas in Fort Wayne, IN and together they shared over 34 years before his passing in 1979.
Marjorie was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and was active in the Hope Circle and Senior Guild there. She was also an accomplished oil painter and found great joy in creating works of art.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Jodi of Alexandria, VA.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her husband, Vincent; parents, Dorphus and Clara; and brother, Marion (Anita) Drum.
Visitation for Marjorie will be held on Tuesday, December 17 from 4:00-6:00PM at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral services will begin at 6:00PM following visitation.
Donations in Marjorie's name may be made to Heartland Hospice or to the Elmwood Assisted Living Activities Department.
