Margaret J. "Peg" (Keiser) Sloma, 93, passed away on May 24, 2023 at Elmwood Assisted Living. She was born on March 1, 1930 in Fremont to the late Katherine (Edmeier) and Joseph Stadler.
She graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1948 and went on to work as a legal secretary with the law office of Starn and Bowlus until she retired in 1978.
On September 11, 1948, she married Robert P. Keiser and shared 53 years together until his passing in 2001. She then married Joseph Sloma on February 22, 2003, and he survives.
Peg was an active member at Sacred Heart Church where served as a Eucharistic Minister for 25 years. She also shared memories with her High School classmates during their monthly get togethers over the last 50 years. She loved reading, playing euchre, and solving puzzles, but her biggest love was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Joseph Sloma; children, David (Trish) Keiser of Greenfield, IN, John (Bonnie) Keiser of Ocala, FL, and Thomas (Kari) Keiser of Fremont; step-children, Bob Sloma, Becky (David) Gurecky, Tony (Paige) Sloma, and Steve (Jennifer) Sloma; special niece, Peggy Newland of Columbus; former daughter-in-law, Cindy Keiser; 8 grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Peg is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Katherine; first husband, Robert Keiser; son, Paul E. Keiser; step-daughter, Kathy Sloma Barnes; siblings, Gertrude Mathna, Robert Stadler, Mary Scholl, and Raymond Stadler.
The family would like to share their deep appreciation for the staff of Elmwood Assisted Living, as they received the best service anyone could ask for.
A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, May 27 from 9:30-11:00AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with a funeral mass beginning at 11:00AM. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Donations in Peg's name may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, or to the Humane Society of Sandusky County.
