Manuel Trevino, 83, passed away on March 19, 2023. He was born in Weslaco, Texas, a son of Anselmo and Catarina (Saucedo) Trevino. On October 3, 1987, He married Guadalupe Salazar.
Before retiring, Manuel worked for Eveready for 32 years. When at home, he loved to tend to his garden. He also enjoyed watching Westerns and sports, and hanging out with his friends and family. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Gibsonburg.
Surviving in addition to his wife Lupe are children, Lori Trevino, David Trevino, Sophia Sawyer, Tony (Liz) Trevino, Roman Alvarado, and Juan Alvarado; grandchildren: Dominic Mahoney and Leo Mahoney; Samantha Trent Esteban Gonzales, Vinacente Gonzales and Sydney Jones; Kayla (John Tae) Player, Mia Trevino and Noah Trevino; Neiko Alvarado, Marisa (Andrew) Cantrell, Jordan Alvarado, Gabriel Alvarado, and DJ Ornlef; and Jose Alvarado, Javen Alvarado, and Anna Belle Abel; great-grandchildren: Savannah Spitnale and Jaxx Avery; Tank Gonzales; Brady Cantrell; Angelita Alvarado; Amelia Alvarado; and Luna Rose Alvarado; and siblings, Estella Alfaro, Frank Trevino, and Chema Trevino.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Joe Alvarado; brother-in-law, Rollie Alfaro and sister-in-law, Esther Trevino; and daughter-in-law, Angela Sue Alvarado.
Visitation for Manuel will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023 at the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory, Gibsonburg from 2-8 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Gibsonburg on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 10:30 A.M.
Burial will take place at a later date at St. Michael & St. Lawrence Cemetery, Gibsonburg.
Memorials in Manuel’s name may be made to St. Michael's Catholic Church for Masses.
