Loyola M. Zeller

Gibsonburg

Loyola M. Zeller, 96, of Gibsonburg, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Elmwood of Fremont. She was born August 20, 1926 on the farm, outside of Helena, Ohio the daughter of Celestine and Rebecca (Herman) Dolweck. She was a 1944 graduate of Gibsonburg High School. On September 2, 1961 she married James William Zeller at St. Michael Catholic Church, he preceded her in death on December 4, 2012.

In her youth, she helped her parents and sisters on their dairy farm outside of Gibsonburg. Loyola worked as an office clerk at Gibsonburg branch of Toledo Edison for 18 years before marrying and raising a family.

She was a member of St. Michael Church and St. Michael Altar Rosary Society, American Legion Auxiliary, Gibsonburg Junior Women's Club and Women's Federation. She volunteered her time at Gibsonburg Health Center, for numerous Blood Drives and as an Election Board Clerk.
 
Loyola loved traveling the United States with friends as well as phone conversations with her friends and her four sisters to keep track of the happenings around Gibsonburg. She also enjoyed sewing, baking and gardening. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Surviving are her children; Rosalie (Dan) Awsumb Dayton, OH, Jim J. (Amy) Zeller of Woodville, OH, Sally Zeller of Gibsonburg; grandchildren Katie (Ryan) Lachey and their son Emmett; Miranda Fisher of Columbus and Marina and Tyler Zeller of Woodville; sisters Marcella Kirwen and Phyllis (Jim) Reed all of Gibsonburg, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughters Diane Zeller and Carol Ann Zeller and sisters Marie Reinbolt Burkhart and Rita Haley.

The family would like to thank the staff of Elmwood Reminiscence Unit as well as Promedica Hospice for their support and care.

Visitation will take place on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 4 to 6 P.M.  at 6 P.M. Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory 319 W. Madison Street, Gibsonburg, OH. Rosary services will begin at 6 P.M. A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Saint Michael Catholic Church, Gibsonburg. Fr. Thomas Varghese will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Saint Michael Catholic Church or Heartland Promedica Hospice.
