Gibsonburg- Lois Mae (Ory) Shively, 89, passed away on Sun., Dec. 23, 2018 at Windsor Lane Health Care Center. She was born on May 6, 1929 in Gibsonburg to the late Edward and Mary (Fehlhaber) Ory.
Lois was a 1948 Gibsonburg High School graduate and began working for the telephone company. On Oct. 27, 1951, she married Ervin Shively at Zion Lutheran Church, Gibsonburg. Together they raised their four children, and Lois was able to be a stay at home mom. Along with being an active mom, Lois was a volunteer at the Tech Center at Vanguard, a member of the Outstanding Women of Sandusky County, the Class of 48’ Club, a past Garden Club member, a life-long member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Choir, and past secretary of Circle meetings at church. Her family was her focus-devoted and involved in all activities. She treasured being the matriarch of five generations.

Surviving are children, Cynthia (Harold) Hines of Gibsonburg, Timothy (Andrea) Shively of Spring Lake, MI, Steve (Sherri) Shively of Helena; son-in-law Leonard Heuring of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Sonya (Troy) Binder, Amber & Chris Shively, Skyler Shively, Zach (Amanda) Heuring and Jessica (Jon) Sarno; 13 great-grandchildren; and 6 great great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ervin who passed on Aug. 31, 1991; daughter, Julie Heuring who passed on May 22, 2016; and siblings, Raymond, Harry, Florence, Carl, Erita and Marilyn.
Visitation will be held at the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg on Thursday, Dec. 27, 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 28, 10:30 a.m., at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Gibsonburg where there will be an additional hour of visitation held prior to the service. Pastor Blair Miller will officiate. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church, Gibsonburg, the American Heart Association or to the Sandusky County Humane Society.
