Lois Ann Gerwin, 83, of Gibsonburg, passed away at ProMedica Memorial Hospital on December 31, 2020. She was born the daughter of William and Alvena (Bosse) Richter on February 4, 1937 in Gibsonburg and was baptized on February 28, 1937. Lois was a 1955 graduate of Gibsonburg High School. On August 22, 1959 she and Paul W. Gerwin were the first couple married at the new Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, and they were married 46 years until his passing on December 11, 2005. Lois worked at Luckey Farmers after graduation as a bookkeeper until 1959 then helped with the family dairy farm for the next 40 years while raising her family. She also worked as a cook at Woodmore Local Schools for 20 years, until having to retire due to health issues. After retiring she kept herself occupied by babysitting because she enjoyed having all the kids and family around the farm. Lois also enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting and sewing. She was skilled at mending and alternating clothing and dresses and making baby blankets, which she would often donate to the church. She volunteered many hours at the church over the years and was a member of the women of the church, taught Sunday School, assisted with funeral luncheons, cooked for the Kingdom Kings program, among many other projects. She enjoyed visiting with her family and friends which became numerous over the years.
Left to cherish her memory are her children; Nancy Gerwin, Fred (Tammy) Gerwin and Duane “Dewey” (Diane) Gerwin all of Gibsonburg, grandchildren; Kyle (Debra), Ashley and Lily Gerwin, great-grandchildren; Owen and Austin Gerwin, siblings; Donald (Virginia) Richter, Jane (James) Triplet both of Gibsonburg, and Joyce Langley of Bowling Green.
In addition to her parents and husband, Paul, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dale Richter.
