Leonard Ray Shull

February 10, 1928 — December 18, 2020

Leonard Ray Shull, 92, passed away on December 18, 2020 at St. Charles Hospital. He was born on February 10, 1928 in Gibsonburg to the late John and Hazel (Braden) Shull. Leonard was a 1947 Gibsonburg High School graduate where he was the leading scorer on the basketball team averaging 34 points a game his senior year, and later inducted into the Gibsonburg Sports Hall of Fame. He retired from Martin Marrietta in 1990 and had previously worked at National Gypsum. Leonard was a past member of the “Odd Fellas” in Helena.

On April 23, 1948, he married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Krotzer at the Trinity United Methodist Church where they were both members. Patricia Mae Shull died at her home on December 7, 2012.

In addition to his wife, Patricia he is preceded in death by sisters, Helen Damschroder, Marguerite Gadjalski, and Ruth Reimer; brothers, Robert, Delbert, Authur and William Shull; and granddaughter Chanae Lynn Shull.

Surviving are children, Timothy (Nancy) of Fremont, James (Julie) of Girton and Steven (Susan) of Fremont; ten grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions in honor of Leonard may be made to Gibsonburg United Methodist Church, Helena Volunteer Fire Department or the Gibsonburg Volunteer Fire Department.

Committal Services for Leonard and Patricia will be held on what would have been their 73rd anniversary, April 23, 2021, at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg 11:00 AM Rev. Max Ulderich will officiate.
