Larry Eugene Sloan, 77, of Fremont and formerly of Bellevue, Ohio, passed away on December 20, 2021. He was born on August 26, 1944, the son of Robert and Lavaughn (Kistler) Sloan in Bellevue, Ohio. Larry served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1965 until his honorable discharge in 1969. He trained as a helicopter mechanic, was awarded a Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the National Defense Medal along with several others. Larry was a lifelong member of the VFW Post 1238 in Bellevue. Those who knew him well describe Larry as a good man who could be quiet at first, but once he warmed up to you, loved to crack jokes and had a wild and fun personality. Larry is survived by his brother, James (Mavis) Sloan of Streamwood, IL, and many friends.
Burial with military honors will take place at Bellevue Cemetery on Saturday, January 8, 2021 at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to donor's choice.
