Kathleen Ann Nieset, 77, of Helena, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023. She was born on April 3, 1946 in Fostoria to the late Golen and Estella (Juckett) Clapper. 

Kathy graduated from Lakota High School in 1964. She furthered her education in Chicago where she became a Medical Assistant, and later, she earned her LPN certification from Bowling Green.

Kathy liked to stay busy working hard. She began in healthcare at Fostoria Hospital where she worked as an aide. Prior to her retirement in 2007, Kathleen's 40 year career at Memorial Hospital consisted of 20 years of Med-Surge and 20 years of Pediatrics.
During which time, she also worked at Heinz as a part-time nurse and as a fill in nurse at Elmwood Assisted Living of Fremont. 

On September 13, 2003 at Scott Trinity, she married the love of her life Leonard Nieset.

Kathy was a member of Scott Trinity United Methodist Church, Risingsun. She enjoyed shopping, spending time with her fellow co-workers, and her family. She will be remembered as a fill-in mother to her nieces & nephews, and a friend to everyone she met.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Leonard of Helena; sister, Shirley (Roger) Below of Risingsun; nieces & nephews, Tim (Teresa) Below, Mike Below, Jim (Deanna) Conrad, Sonya (Bronson) Daley, Jason (Anita) Conrad, Suzette Wohlgamuth, Shanna (Jeremy) Secord; 19 great-nieces & nephews; 13 great-great-nieces & nephews; several cousins; and her many cats, especially Oris.

She is preceded in death by her parents and infant brother, Wilbert Clyde Clapper.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 1, 2023, from 4-8PM at Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory, 319 W. Madison Street, Gibsonburg. There will be additional Visitation from 9-11AM with Funeral Services beginning at 11AM on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the funeral home. Burial to follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Helena. Pastor Keith Norwalk will officiate.
