Joseph “Dick” Foster, 86, of Helena, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2018 at Memorial ProMedica Hospital, Fremont. Born in Fostoria on Sept. 12, 1932, he was a son of the late Charles and Belva (Milligan) Foster.
Dick attended Gibsonburg Schools and on April 25, 1953, he married Carolyn Jean Taulker. They were married for nearly 55 years until Carolyn’s passing on Mar. 26, 2008.
Dick was a 40-year Atlas Industries retiree, retiring as a supervising machinist in 1997. He was a former member of SCRAP and of the Zenobia Shrine and was a member of the Liberty Aviation Museum.
Surviving are children James Foster of Bradner, Cheryl (Gary) Hoodlebrink of Woodville, Barbara Wagner of Holland, Susan (Rick) Engle of Risingsun; grandchildren, Angela (Chris) Bremer, Carie (Adam) Cufr, Dana Miller, Jason Bomer, Aaron (Kristen) Bomer, Jillian (Jay) Ellis, Gregory (Rachel) Hoodlebrink, Jennifer Bomer and Danielle Engle; 26 great-grandchildren; and a great, great-grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his son-in-law Timothy Wagner; infant granddaughter Katherine Rose; and siblings, Robert, Charles and Margaret.
Graveside services were held privately at Graham Cemetery, Wayne.
Memorials may be to the donor’s charity of choice.
