John F. Knieriem, 56, of Helena passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at ProMedica Memorial Hospital. He was born on December 28, 1964 in Oregon, OH to Franklin Knieriem and Bobbie Cooper. John attended Vanguard during high school and graduated in 1983 from Gibsonburg High School.
Until its closing, John worked at Atlas Industries in Gibsonburg. Most recently he worked at the Fremont Wal-Mart doing maintenance.
On November 15, 1986 he married the love of his life, Tina Wilhelm. Together they raised their 3 children: Sara, Abby and Samuel. John always had the unique ability to be himself and lighten the room with his "dad jokes". He was known to be a car enthusiast, collector of all items, a “mixologist”, and an avid note-taker. He was always working, always thinking; His mind kept him busy with new ideas and projects. John was a dedicated Jehovah's Witness and spent a great deal of time reading and studying the Bible.
Surviving is his wife, Tina; mother, Bobbie Cooper of Fremont; children, Sara (Richard) Danforth of Cleveland, Abby (Ryan) Falls of Fort Wayne, IN and Samuel (Rheanna) Knieriem of Gibsonburg; grandson, Jackson Danforth; and siblings, June (Brent) Hoffman, Donna Long, and Carolyn (Darnell) Pearson all of Fremont.
Visitation for John will be held at the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, November 26, 2021 from 3-8 p.m. A Memorial Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. with Phillip Bork officiating. In honoring the family’s wishes, masks are to be worn during the Visitation and Memorial Service.
Any memorials may be made to the family, care of Tina or to The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1509 Cedar St, Fremont, OH 43420.
