John LeRoy Ickes

John L. Ickes, 67, of Clyde, passed away January 30, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Fremont the son of David and Dorthy Ickes on February 13, 1954. He took great pleasure in spending time with his grandkids, daughters and great-grandchildren. He was a loving husband, grandfather and father. John enjoyed helping anyone he knew.

 

On May 27, 1975 he married Alice Faye Knott, she preceded him in death in 2009. He is survived by his daughters Shawna Baker, Brenda Bliss and Schelly "Nate" O'Neill of Fremont and Johnnie "Joe" Stegman of Toledo; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings Tom (Ruth) Ickes of Rising Sun, Penny Yingling of Gibsonburg, Bill (Brenda) Ickes of Clyde, Judy (Mike) Black of Gibsonburg; best friends Randy and Max. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother Butch and sisters: Linda, Marsha, Sal and 4 great-grandchildren.

 

Visitation will take place on Tuesday February 8, 2022 from 10A-Noon at Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory, 319 W. Madison Street, Gibsonburg, OH. Funeral services will begin at Noon. Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home.
