John R. Bricker, 74, of Gibsonburg peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on the morning of August 23, 2024 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio with his wife by his side.

He was born on November 7, 1949, to the late Samuel and Betty (Ziegler) Bricker in Bellefonte, PA, and moved to Ohio when he was 14 years old.

On December 10, 1976, John married Susie Pertner at St. Michael Catholic Parish. Together they shared over 47 years of marriage.

John began his career as a chemist with Woodville Lime before the company became Martin Marietta. He retired from Martin Marietta in 2014 after 48 years of dedicated work.

John was a faithful member of Saint Michael Catholic Parish. He enjoyed golfing and watching Penn State Football. He also had a love of biking and participated in many GOBA events. John also had a love of pork rinds and Snyders hard pretzels, which his family will not soon forget. He found the greatest joy in spending time with his grandchildren and spending winters in Florida.

Along with his wife, Susie, John was blessed with two children, Kathryn "Katie" (Brad) Heter and Andrew "Andy" (Cassie) Bricker; and grandchildren, Alyssa (Sam) Suttles, Alex Heter, Addie Bricker, and Liv Bricker; and great-grandson, Jackson Suttles.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Betty; and sisters Barbara and Linda.

Visitation for John will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 from 9:15 -10:15AM at St. Michael Catholic Parish, with a memorial mass to begin at 10:30AM. Burial will be held privately for the family. For those who cannot be in attendance, John's services will be live streamed via a link at the top of the page.

In lieu of flowers, donations in John's name may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.

The Bricker family would like to share their heartfelt thanks to Hospice for their wonderful and attentive care.
