Joanne V. Marok

Joanne V. Marok, 93, passed away on February 19, 2025, at the Willows at Bowling Green. She was born on July 31, 1931 in Toledo, OH; the only child of Virginia (Parish) Tucker.

As an only child, Joanne had adored her many aunts, uncles, and cousins and had; some of them having an almost sibling relationship.

In her youth, Joanne took 12 years of tap dance lessons. When she wasn't at school or working at the Valentine Movie Theater, she could be found walking to the roller skating rink where she would showcase her talent of skating.

Upon her graduation from Woodward High School in 1949, she dedicated her career as a file clerk at LOF.

She married Edward Marok on August 9, 1952 in Angola, Indiana. He preceded her in death on November 6, 2013.

In her later years, Joanne found joy in planting flowers and caring for her yard. She loved decorating for Christmas, as she felt it had a way of creating a warm and inviting space filled with love and cheer. She will be remembered for her vibrant nature and infectious sense of humor that filled a room with laughter and will remain in her family's hearts forever.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Michael Marok, Karen (Jeff) Lemke, and Jeffrey (Missy Chester) Marok; grandchildren, Brett Marok, Chad Marok, Nicholas (Michelle) Ward and Amberlyn & Atley Ward, Morgan (Anthony) Hoffman; and bonus family, Katie (Greg) Szumigala and Calvin Szumigala, Emilie Lemke, Jeanette (Steve) Laskey, and Steve (Sarah) Mitchell and Jacob Mitchell.

In addition to her husband, Joanne is preceded in death by her parents, as well as her son-in-law, Tom Mitchell.

A special thanks for all the love and supportive care given from her friends, Jeannie Brink, Lynn Fox, and Robin Clair; everyone at The Willows at Bowling Green that created a family like atmosphere; and Hospice 360 for keeping her comfortable in preparation for her journey.

Visitation for Joanne will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at the Zion Lutheran Church, Gibsonburg from 10AM-Noon with Funeral Services beginning at Noon. Pastor Matthew Zuehlke will officiate.

Memorial donations can be made in Joanne's name to the Humane Society of Sandusky County, Care360 Hospice or Zion Lutheran Church.
