Jean L. Smith

Jean L. Smith, 97, of Fremont, passed away at her home on Sunday, December 19, 2021. She was born in Amsden, OH to the late Willis and Armina (Kenan) Stull. Jean graduated from Jackson Liberty High School in 1942.

On November 4, 1944 she married Don Smith in Fostoria, and together they shared 67 years of marriage until his passing on September 19, 2012.

Jean was a member of First English Lutheran Church, Gibsonburg and the Farm Bureau. For many years, Jean worked for Lakota Schools in the cafeteria. She retired in 1987.

Surviving is her daughter, Nancy L. Smith of Santa Rosa, CA and daughters-in-law, Linda Smith of Florida and Nancy Smith of Tiffin; grandchildren, Dale (Marlon Monger) Smith, Aaron (Nikki) Smith, Sara (John) Mulvey and Matthew (Kim) Smith and four great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, William "Bill" A. Smith and Robert Smith; grandson, Evan Smith; siblings, Clara Titsworth, Marian Osborne, Kathryn Bowman, Warren Stull, and George Stull.

Memorials may be made to First English Lutheran Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Visitation will be held at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, December, 29th 2021 from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 AM, and burial will follow at Smith Cemetery. Rev. Henry Seibert will officiate.
