Janet I. Baker, 88, of Burgoon passed away at her home surrounded by the love and comfort of her family on Friday, August 6, 2021. She was born on July 29, 1933 in Kansas, OH to the late Theodore and Claribel (Havens) Lanning.
Janet was a 1951 Jackson Burgoon School graduate. The following year, she married Forrest "Don" Baker in Indiana, and together they shared 57 years of marriage until his passing on July 27, 2009.
Through her life, Janet enjoyed painting miniatures, refinishing wood, and antiques. She liked to casually drive the countryside and listen to music. Family was very important to Janet. She even made a special trip to Pennsylvania to explore her family history, and was able to acquire a family heirloom. Janet's family will remember her for her unwavering love and support. They knew that if they needed anything, she would be there to support them by any means possible.
Surviving are her children, Clifford Baker of Burgoon and Deborah Madrigal of Fremont; grandchildren, Toby (Jessica Farson) Baker, Fernando Baker, Estrella (Dustin Shoner) Madrigal all of Fremont; and great-grandchildren, Toby Baker II, Jordan Kollman, Allie Baker, Kaden Baker, and Brady Baker all of Fremont; and siblings, Mary Ellen (Bill) Meyer of Burgoon and Alice (Gary) Simpson of Bluffton, OH.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Forrest; and brother, Robert Lanning.
Funeral Services for Janet will be held privately. The Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory is honored to assist Janet's family during their time of loss.
