James Edgar Dailey, went to be with the Lord on March 7, 2019 in The Villages, FL at the age of 78. He is survived by his beloved wife Louise (nee Orosz); daughters Kathleen Meneely (John) and Karen Dailey (Jeff) of Punta Gorda, FL and Sue Zimmerman (Keith) of Fremont, OH; grandsons Matthew (Stephanie) and Nathan Brotzki; great-granddaughter Sierra; dear in-laws Marie Heysek (Bob), Bette Ingraham (Jim), Bill Orosz (Jan); and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents Leslie and Frances Dailey of Euclid, OH; and brother John and his wife Joanne Dailey.
James was born in Cleveland on March 9, 1940. He attended St. Joseph High School in Euclid and graduated from John Carroll University with a degree in Physics. He served in the US Army from 1963 to 1969 with Honorable Discharge as a First Lieutenant. He worked throughout northern Ohio for Union Carbide/Eveready Energizer as a Quality Control Engineer until retirement, after which he worked for Andersons in Maumee, OH. In 2012, he moved to The Villages, FL with Lou to spend his golden years, where he continued enjoying good times with family and friends, golf, Cleveland sports, service to his community and to his church.
All are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Jim’s life at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fremont, OH on Saturday, March 16 at 10:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Bishop Hoffman Catholic High School in Fremont, OH.
