Howard J. Schroeder

Howard J. Schroeder, 86, of Fremont, passed Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Howard, a dedicated farmer and self-employed individual, spent 62 years tending to the farm and delivering essential medical supplies to local nursing homes. His contributions to the agricultural industry were well-known and respected.

Born on January 9, 1938, in Fremont, OH, the son of Alfred and Marian (Mauch) Schroeder, Howard found joy in simple pleasures like watching Ohio State and Cleveland Browns football games and camping at Marblehead. He was a member of Lindsey Trinity Church and actively engaged in various community organizations, such as the Gibsonburg Elevator Board, Farm Bureau Board, and Sandusky County Welfare Board.

Howard lived by the principle of treating others with kindness and respect, embodying the motto "Treat people the way you want to be treated."
He leaves behind his loving spouse, Penny (Hasslebach) Schroeder of Fremont, whom he married on August 15,1975, son Tim (Ashley) Schroeder of Gibsonburg, OH; granddaughters Allison and Holley; numerous nieces and nephews and brother Bob (Mary) Schroeder. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister and brother-in-law  Ruth and Dale Richter.

Visitation will take place on Friday, June 14, 2024 from 3-7P.M. at Herman-Veh Funeral Home, 319 W. Madison Street, Gibsonburg, OH. Additional visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. until the time of Funeral services at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Lindsey Trinity Church, 231 S. Maple Street, Lindsey, OH, Pastor Travis Montgmery will officiate. Burial will follow at Lindsey Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
