Helen R. Petersen, 96, of Fremont passed away on February 2, 2022, at her home. She was born on July 7, 1925, to the late John and Bessie (Shaw) Vincent in Rollersville.

Helen was a 1944 graduate of Gibsonburg High School and worked at Brush Wellman for 30 years as an executive secretary, retiring in 1989.

On March 16, 1957, she married Dale H. Petersen. They raised 6 children and shared 38 years together until his passing in 1995.

Helen enjoyed spending time in God's Word, time with her family and friends and serving at Grace Community Church where she was a faithful member.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Valerie (David) Ross; Sherry (Ben) Yarborogh, DaLeen (Doug) Markel, Dana (Timothy) Coonrod, and David Petersen; 18 grandchildren, and 34 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale; son, Garry Heselton; brother, Harold Vincent; and sister, Dorothy Filliater.

A time of visitation will be held from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & crematory, Fremont on Monday, February 7, 2022. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, with an hour of visitation held prior to services at Grace Community Church, Fremont.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen's name may be made to Grace Community Church.
