Harold "Skeeter" Whetstone, 73, of Fremont passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, June 19, 2021. He was born on May 9, 1948 in Bellevue, OH to the late Johnnie and G. Irene (Queen) Whetstone.
He attended Fremont Ross High School and later joined the Army serving in Vietnam. After his service, he returned to Fremont working for Whirlpool in Clyde as a tool and die setter. He enjoyed restoring antique cars, traveling, going to the flea market and fishing. Harold also liked to donate to the casinos and playing the lottery.
Surviving are his children, Nicole Whetstone of Gibsonburg and Phebe Montalto of Houston, TX and their mother, Stephanie (Sorg) Whetstone Stull; siblings, Judy (Terry) Strickland, Susie (Quin) Hagerty, Paul Binns, Sharon (Lonnie) Cook and Cameron Binns; many nieces, nephews; and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie Whetstone and G. Irene Binns, step-father, Paul Binns, Sr.; infant sister, and brother, Johnnie "Butch" Whetstone.
Visitation will be held at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, Fremont on Sunday, June 27, 2021 from 2:00-5:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, June 28th at 10:00 AM Rev. Mel Sayler will officiate and burial will follow at Bellevue City Cemetery where Military Honors will be preformed in his honor.
Memorials may be made to the care of his daughters.
