Gary P. Chamberlain, 58, of Vickery, passed away Friday, June 10, 2022 at his residence. He was born January 23, 1964 in Fremont, OH the son of Richard and Lucille (Burgener) Chamberlain. Gary was a 1982 graduate of St. Joseph High. Upon graduation Gary enlisted in the United States Marine Corp; trained as an Anti-Tank Assault man and earned an Expert Rifleman Badge. On December 2, 2000 he married Rose Smith Coleman at St. Ann Catholic Church.
Gary worked 37 years for Crown Battery Manufacturing as the Assistant Plant Superintendent. He enjoyed camping, raising chickens, gardening and was a fan of Ohio State, Cleveland Browns and Detroit Red Wings.
Surviving is his wife Rose of Vickery, OH; step-daughter Jessica Coleman of Green Springs, OH; grandchildren: Audrie Kohlenberg, Tyler Coleman, Elijah Coleman all of Green Springs, OH; mother Lucille “Lou” Chamberlain of Fremont, OH; siblings Sharon (Michael) Malczewski of Toledo, OH; Mike (DiDi) Chamberlain and Steve (Judy) Chamberlain of Fremont; sister-in-law Christine Chamberlain of Columbus,OH. He was preceded in death by his father and brother Dave Chamberlain.
Visitation will take place from 3-7:00 PM on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, 900 North Street, Fremont, OH. A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00A.M. on Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 709 Croghan Street, Fremont, OH. Fr. Ted Miller will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery with military graveside rights. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church or Stein Hospice.
