Gail Nagy

Gail L. Nagy, 79, of Gibsonburg, passed away at Countryside Manor in Fremont on March 4, 2023. She was born January 29, 1944 in Fremont, Ohio, to Lewis Joseph Nagy and Betty Jane (Garey) Nagy. Gail graduated from Gibsonburg High School in 1962 then pursued a lifelong career in cosmetology. She graduated from Toledo Academy of Beauty, and earned additional certifications and training from Tiffin Academy of Hair, New York Cosmetology of Hair Sassoon Training, Chicago Hair and Design, and Ohio State Cosmetology. On July 25, 1977, Gail opened Gail's Beauty Salon, which she proudly owned and operated until September 27, 2003. Gail also managed to be heavily involved in her community in her spare time. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Gibsonburg where she sang in the choir,  the 4H Rolerettes in Rollersville of which she was a member for 10 years, an officer for the FHA at Gibsonburg High School, and a board officer for the Sandusky County Junior Fair. Gail enjoyed baking and was known for her award-winning cherry pie at the school and the county fair. She loved cheering on the Gibsonburg Golden Bears, the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cleveland Guardians, working in her beautiful yard and tending to her flowers, and was proud of her Hungarian and Pennsylvania Dutch heritage. 
Left to cherish her memory are her siblings, Lynn Nagy of Fremont, Larry Nagy of Helena, and her nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her siblings, James Nagy and Mary Kaczor. 
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 8, 2023, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory, 319 W. Madison Street, Gibsonburg, OH, 43431. Additional visiting will be held Thursday, March 9, 2023, at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM. 
Pastor Max Ulderich will officiate. Burial will be held privately for the family. 
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Gibsonburg Community Church, 795 W. Madison Street, Gibsonburg, OH, 43431, or the Gibsonburg Athletic Department.
